The CC doesn't 'feel' as near as hot as a Dimarzio Super D, or even a Duncan JB. The regular custom feels like a juiced up PAF with more aggression. These have a serious mid spike. they're good in Strats for that point, a S/S/H. In a Les Paul I just feel like it's too much. The regular custom works better.

Re: SD SH-6 Distortion humbucker in a Les Paul. I had a Duncan Distortion set in a Les Paul for quite a few years. The clean tones on the DD bridge model are marginal but on an amp with a lot of clean headroom or if you roll down the volume pot you can make it work. You wont do Jazz with it but you can cover popular music.

It offers the chime, clarity and sparkle of a vintage voiced pickup but pairs it with the tightness and fluidity of a hotter, more modern pickup. It's not nearly as hot as the Custom but has a slightly higher output than the '59, Seth or Antiquity.
