The Institute on Québec Studies at SUNY Plattsburgh is very pleased to welcome Dr. Jean-Philippe Marcoux as our Distinguished Fulbright Research Chair for the spring 2023 semester. Dr. Marcoux is a Professor of American Literature at Université Laval in Québec City. His research focuses on the cross-fertilizations between Black music.

It is fitting that Jean-Philippe Marcoux's own prose is nearly as lyrical as the poets he addresses in this thoughtful, penetrating and engaging study of the griots of the 1960s revolution.
